Reviewer: Troy Kochner "raptoro" (Lincoln, NE USA) I found this book very helpful. It features the diagnostic flowcharts directly from the manufacturer's manuals. |

Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control : All Ford/Lincoln-Mercury Cars and Light Trucks 1988 to 1993 by Charles O. Probst
454 pages Reviewer: A reader Probst's book is a combined textbook and service manual on one of the most mystifying elements of modern automobiles, electronic engine control and electronic fuel injection (EFI). Hurrah to Probst for being, as far as I can tell, the first person to produce something more than a simple overview of EFI; some manuals simply state that EFI is much to complex, requiring prohibitively expensive tools and (presumably unnatainable) automotive education, that the individual who desires to learn such systems and to repair his own vehicle is out of luck and should refer any EFI problems over to a "trained technician". Not Probst! Probst's book is comprehensive. In it, he takes the reader from beginning to end starting with the scientific concepts underlying the function of EFI, (a pleasure for any engineer to study- including engine function and the need for EFI as opposed to carburetion), all the way to the hands on procedures of diagnosing and repairing EFI vehicles (a pleasure for any mechanic who is the owner of a poorly running EFI equipped car or truck). If you have the desire to learn EFI, this book will offer you the knowlege you need: it is of tremendous value to one who simply needs to maintain his car on a limited budget, or to the mechanic who desires to expand his knowlege and career. |

How to Tune & Modify Ford Fuel Injection (Powertech) by Ben Watson
176 pages Reviewer: "ebronco" (Herriman, UT USA) I have many ford vehicles that have come up with electrical/fuel injection problems after a couple hundred thousand miles and this book has helped me fix all of them quickly and very, very in-expensively. It has astounding testing techniques and some quick fixes for limping back home if needed. I have probably saved over a thousand dollars in costly repairs by using this book. |
